Nitrile, vinyl and poly: practical differences
- Nitrile: often selected when a close fit, tactile control and a more durable disposable glove are useful. The exact SKU still must be verified for its intended food-contact use.
- Vinyl: can suit short, low-stress handling where the glove is changed frequently. Fit and durability should be tested in the actual station rather than assumed from material alone.
- Polyethylene: loose, easy-on/easy-off gloves can fit brief handling tasks, but their low-control fit may be unsuitable for detailed knife or equipment work.
No disposable glove material is heat- or cut-resistant by default. Chemical sanitation also requires a separate label- and SDS-based decision.
